Brittany Murphy's death certificate has been changed to include her father's name after he complained he was unable to visit his daughter's grave.

Brittany Murphy was estranged from her father, Angelo Bertolotti, at the time of her passing and her death certificate originally listed the actress' paternity as 'unknown'.

The move left Bertolotti blocked from the Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles, where Murphy is laid to rest, because he couldn't prove he is a family member.

Bertolotti, who divorced Brittany Murphy's mother when the actress was just two years old, is named as her father on her birth certificate and lodged an appeal for her death certificate to be altered.

His name has now been added to the document after he showed proof of identification, the actress' birth certificate, and family photos to officials at the L.A. County Registrar, reports TMZ.com.

According to Variety Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has nabbed North American rights to Matthew Parkhill's supernatural ghost story The Caller. The film, once a Brittany Murphy vehicle before her untimely death, now stars Rachelle Lefevre, Stephen Moyer, and Luis Guzman. Dig on the goods after the plot crunch.

Writer/director Matthew Parkhill's new mystery thriller 'The Caller' has had its North American rights picked up by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Maybe part due to the interesting concept for the film , or perhaps it has something to do with its top billing pair of stars. The auction for Brittany Murphy's Hollywood home has been put on hold at the bank's request. Her mother, Sharon, asked for extra time before the place is sold under the hammer because she wants to unload the house on her own.

The 8,000 sq. ft. Hollywood Hills home had been put on the market in March for .25 million. But a month later, Sharon decided to pull it off the market.

Earlier in January, it was learned that a little more than million is still owed on the home. An auction was set Monday at a Pomono, CA courthouse to sell the property.

But Sharon asked for extra time to see if she can sell the house on her own terms instead. The new auction date is on February 14, according to TMZ.

The mother of tragic actress Brittany Murphy has lashed out at a Hollywood Reporter journalist for going public with an investigation into the "Clueless" star's death. Police ruled out foul play in Murphy's December, 2009 death, while Los Angeles coroner's officials ruled the star died from pneumonia, anaemia and a toxic mix of prescription drugs.

But The Hollywood Reporter's Ben Block has spent months researching the mystery of the actress' shock death - and he's now revealing some new facts, which have upset Murphy's mum Sharon. Block tells news show Entertainment Tonight, "What nobody seemed to realize was that because of other problems - including having her period twice in one month - she was suffering from anaemia. She was losing a lot of blood; this weakens you tremendously."

The reporter discovered Murphy had a quarter of the normal red blood count at the time of her death. He adds, "The pneumonia was filling her lungs with fluid at the same time. What was even worse was she couldn't even take care of herself that last night. She was mostly worried about her mom and her husband."

"Her mother had neuropathy... (and) her husband had become very ill... He had at least three seizures a night. They did take care of each other and felt that they could self-medicate and consult with a physician by phone."

Block also believes that Murphy's husband Simon Monjack, who died in May, created an unhealthy environment around the actress: "He was very paranoid and passed his paranoia on to her and isolated her from close family and friends who had been part of her life."

The expose has socked and hurt Murphy's mum, who says, "As I am dealing daily with the heart-wrenching loss of my entire family, I am shocked by Mr. Block's statements. This is very disturbing that someone that was supposed to be mine and Brittany's friend, and someone who works for The Hollywood Reporter, would make statements that are 100 per cent untrue. For anyone to even fathom that I would just sit and watch my only beloved daughter die and not get help instantly is beyond my way of thinking and despicable."

Five months after Brittany Murphy died, her Husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack was found dead at the same Hollywood Hills residence. The cause of his death is currently under investigation.

The widower of Brittany Murphy was found dead at the home the couple once shared in the Hollywood Hills. The Los Angeles Police Department told ET Simon Monjack was pronounced dead late Sunday night after suffering a heart attack.

A 911 call was placed to come to the aid of Monjack in the 9 o'clock hour of Sunday night. Resuscitation efforts failed and Monjack passed away from cardiac arrest. Sgt. Louie Lozano of the Los Angeles Police Department told ET that detectives are on the scene to conduct an investigation. Pending further investigation, police tell ET that detectives believe he died of natural causes.

Late wife Brittany Murphy died on December 20, 2009 from pneumonia, with other conditions contributing but not directly related to the immediate cause of death being iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication.

In January 2010, Murphy's mother Sharon, and widower Simon Monjack established the Brittany Murphy Foundation, a charitable fund for children's arts education, as well as supporting the USO and cancer research.

The Foundation was officially launched on February 4, 2010, at an event at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills where Monjack requested donations of $1,000 per person and $10,000 per corporation to attend, although records search revealed that the foundation's not-for-profit status had not been filed. Soon thereafter, the foundation announced it would refund any donations received and issued an official letter on the Foundation's website.

They stated that in an effort to get the foundation setup as quickly as possible, they had established it as a private Foundation with plans to apply for nonprofit status down the road.

However, they said that they had decided to wait until the Foundation's non-profit status was approved before going any further in order to truly honor Murphy and the Foundation's charitable goals.

Brittany Murphy At 8:00 a.m. (16:00 UTC) on December 20, 2009, the LA Fire Department responded to "a medical request" at the LA home Brittany Murphy and Simon Monjack shared. Brittany Murphy had apparently collapsed in a bathroom. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate Brittany Murphy on the scene. Brittany Murphy was subsequently transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Brittany Murphy was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:04 a.m. after going into cardiac arrest.

The official cause of death is yet to be determined, but Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the Associated Press: "It appears to be natural." An autopsy was performed on December 21, 2009. Full results will not be available for several weeks; authorities are looking into her medical records and toxicology reports.

Brittany Murphy was buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on December 24, 2009. Where Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills is a park dedicated to the preservation of American history, and hosts high-profile events such as an annual Veterans Day ceremony attended by dignitaries and other VIPs.

If you are familiar with meth and its addcts, I think, you'll enjoy and at the same time be more sadden watching this film because what you'll see is bits of the truth in the world of meth-heads. Although, I think, some people instead of feeling sympathy for the characters might just be in for a laugh.This film was wonderfully done and casted. All actors in this film, I believe, portrayed their characters very well. They were right on point! Watching this... I got irritated and anxious. A great film and excellently directed. I cried all the way through the movie - the drama and plot were well developed and the surface plot was anything but shallow. Barrymore played a different role from her normal persona, but it was definitely a success for her. The movie is told mostly in flashbacks, and is a little confusing at first. As the plot continues things start to fit into place, and you can't stop watching the screen. (Brittany) Murphy definitely stuck out in this movie too. Her personality bubbled off the screen, and she brought what little humor there was to the movie. I wouldn't classify it as a comedy, but it is a movie that I'd want to see again and again. I recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for a good drama.

Although people probably will disagree with me on this, I think that "Don't Say A Word" is one of the best movies I've seen. I tend to get interested in movies, when they're good, and this movie kept me on my toes watching the whole time. Brittany Murphy plays a spectacular troubled teenager. Even her performance as Daisy Randone in "Girl, Interrupted," was topped by her astounding performance as Elizabeth in "Don't Say A Word." Although I might be bias in saying all of this because my favorite films are horror and suspense ones (those and chick flicks...), honestly this movie has to be in my top 5, solely because of the chill I got from Brittany Murphy early in the movie. The looks and actions she did just thrilled and chilled me at times. SO all in all, this movie definitely appeals to me greatly, and if anyone else likes thriller films, this movie is the way to go!

First there is a fella on this section that said the movie was shot in Ohio and it wasn't because of weather constraints, the ball field was built and shot on in North Carolina, and some shots actually done in Chattam. I have several friend who live in Chattam and they loved the movie and actually understood why it could not be shot in Mass. I really enjoyed the whole movie and thought most of the music was very different but music shouldn't be about a number one hit in film to sell it and the sound track,BUT the music was very stirring in areas and I really had some musician friends who commented that the tracks were awesome for the movie and set the tone of the movie too. Jessica Biel was awesome and HOT and so was Brittney Murphy. I would have figured it to be a lot bigger at the box office cause I have only had 2 friends not like it but they only like sci fi and horror so go figure. I rate it 10 stars and hope they make a sequel.

Worth watching! It is funny, romantic, and a really good script - New York city's dating game and on location on the streets of NY, great fashion by actresses and actors and Ed Burns 's words and acting are just super! I love the documentary style and narration, 6 people in the city in these interlocking relationships, very captivating, the background photography were great with natural lights in the city, and of course the soundtracks fit the movie very well. I watched this movie many times, the reasons are that the story is very interesting. The interplay between different characters in their witty ways, and also the great acting by all the actors in this movies, of course, the handsome Ed Burns, the pretty Bittany Murphy are the lead actors. In one scene, when Ed is having dinner with his date in the movie with the background music of lush life - such a romantic Jazz tune!

It was a snowy Sunday and I went to see this film because I am missing New York so much out here in Reno, Nevada. The dialogue is smart and witty. The acting is real, the directing first rate. Ed Burns reminds me of a young Woodie Allen without the neurosis (which I am glad to be rid of). I really didnt want the film to end. On that note I would have made a few editorial choices a bit differently but otherwise, Dennis Farina,Ed Burns, Turturro, and the fabulous women (*especially that beautiful actress whose name escapes me who played Maria). I found myself laughing way too loudly and then the rest of the audience seemed to realize this was funny. It is I suspect a very New York movie with a unique New York humor but it was a little gem. I think it rates an Academy Award Nomination.

COMMON GROUND sports excellent acting and generally very strong writing as it tackles different shadings of the gey experience in a small town setting. Small towns can be most unforgiving about differences, especially differences that are hated and feared, like hom*s*xuality. This was brought across quite well in COMMON GROUND which traces gey/lasbien life in 3 different time settings: 50s, 70s, and the present day. By far the strongest segments were the first two. The last, written by Harvey Feirstein, was lighter in nature, which isn't a bad thing, but the characters were not as fleshed out as in the prior segments. Overall, though, it is an excellent show and a must see for everyone to get a glimpse of the gey experience in America.

Shamefully neglected horror thriller is probably the best slasher film to follow in the footsteps of Scream (1996), too bad it ended up being a television movie!

In the seemingly innocent town of Cherry Falls, Virginia, someone is murdering high school students who just happen to be virgins!

Clever premise, being a twist on the classic slasher convention of sex=death, pays off in this dark and splendidly suspenseful shocker. The direction of Wright is solid with the occasional touch of stylishness. He makes good use of the Virginia filming locations and adds some spooky elements, like the rather creepy looking killer. Ken Seldon takes what could have been a lousy concept and makes a wonderfully twisted and entertaining story. There's also the occasional touch of comic relief (like the have sex or die party) and a dark sense of humor about the story. The murder sequences are gory and shocking despite the limitations of TV censors, which caused some of the film to be edited.

The cast is pretty good. Young Brittany Murphy is appealing and likable as a rather unconventional leading girl. Michael Biehn is great as Murphy's father who's also the local sheriff. Jay Mohr is excellent as the rather timid school teacher who fears for his students safety. The supporting cast is also good, most notably Candy Clark as Murphy's slightly odd mother.

Cherry Falls is a film that really got the shaft on its releasing, as it's far superior to a number of the theatrically released slasher-by-the-numbers flicks that where out around the time. Horror fans, before you bother with the likes of Urban Legend (1998), the lousy Valentine (2001) or any sequel, give this one a turn! You just might find it to be one of the best!

I'm also on a quest to see every Brittany Murphy film: She is a memorable performer and under the hands of the right director can bring to life the most adorable and unique characters (who can forget 'Daisy' or 'Elizabeth Berkins'!), but here she follows routine dialogue.

Falling Sky movie doesn't attempt to achieve believability- the way her character is dressed is contrary to her personality, how can they afford a decent house with the scraps they earn, how does someone like mom get a job so conveniently, etc..

Further more, we aren't surprised that they drive a classic car, we are not surprised that the daughter is the brightest kid in literature class, we are not surprised that her mother becomes a filthy ugly striipper in some druunken sleaaze-hole, and we sho-as-hell wuzn't surprised nor entertained or even cared that the mom is dumber and more childish than the teenae daughter. Of course- every teenage girl movie must have an arsenal of dumb hormone driven male teens who cause trouble and one of them has to be a cute boy that she absolutely must fall in love with. There's nothing necessarily wrong with the plot being so unoriginal as long as the movie adds fresh material to keep it entertaining (this one doesn't).

Falling Sky lacked the most basic composition of every film- visual style. The music is cheesy. Things happen in the story simply because they'd already happened in other movies of the same formula. The subplots concerning the teenage boys and some hookers were pointless. I don't know why "Falling Sky" was made. Maybe it looked good on paper but then the entire project simply fell apart; probably because neither Brian J. Depalma nor the cast had any vision or enthusiasm for it.

This may have come about under the aegis of Oprah Winfrey, but don't let that put you off; "David and Lisa" is far more watchable than her self-titled opus. (Another British viewer complained that She Who Thinks She's God appears in an intro before the movie starts; this is the case on video and on its US screenings, but I watched the movie on BBC2 and her appearance was removed, for which much thanks. Less justifiably, the Harpo logo was also absent - I don't like Oprah, but I like end credits.)

This movie is basically a love story, and the object of his affections - though it takes him a while to realise it - is a fellow patient played by Brittany Murphy (anyone seeing this after "Girl, Interrupted" and "Don't Say A Word" will probably not be surprised). Given to speaking in rhyme to make her internal demons go away, his interest is at first clinical, but eventually...

And to the person who complained about Marco Beltrami's music; in addition to being above-average for TV, it must have been a refreshing change for him to score a movie not about serial killings. Fans of him (and Haas and Murphy) should tune in.

Lose Yourself..., My friends and I rented this movie the other day for two reasons. The first one is that we all like Eminem very much and have listened to all his songs (except for the new album, Relapse) at least 20 times. My favorite is ''Like Toy Soldiers'' in which Eminem describes conflicts with other rappers and with the recording industry ''Murder Inc.'', but I also like the song ''Superman'' in which he talks about one-night stands with girls. The second reason was that, judging by Eminem's rapping style, it would have something to do with street gangs and all. Well, if this can rejoice you, it does have it's gang themes, but there is hardly any violence, because it is a drama. It talks about B. Rabbit (his real name is Jimmy), which is interpreted by Eminem, who did an awesome job in this movie. I really mean it! He was very good and deserved an Oscar. By the way, 8 Mile won an Oscar for the song ''Lose Yourself'' which was written for this movie and that song is very good. It's probably my favorite after Superman and Like Toy Soldiers. Anyways, Rabbit wants to become a Rap artist, and what follows in the movie is his road to respect as a white rapper living in a black neighborhood. Fight duels, rap battles and everything else is a rendez-vous in this movie, but what steals the show is the awesome job the actors did on 8 Mile.
